Welcome to The Point of Light Therapeutic Counseling & Life Coaching Services. Now Accepting New Clients — Let’s Begin Your Journey.
Booking & Refunds
Effective date: July 1, 2026
The Point of Light Therapeutic Counseling & Life Coaching Services reserves appointment time specifically for each client. This policy explains scheduling, payment, cancellations, and refunds for counseling and life coaching appointments.
Scheduling appointments
Please request appointments through the secure booking platform linked from our Website or through the practice’s approved scheduling method. An appointment request is subject to provider availability, acceptance for services, and completion of required intake documents. Your booking confirmation will identify the appointment date, time, and format.
Use accurate contact information so we can send appointment details and important updates. Booking does not guarantee that a requested service is clinically appropriate or that insurance will cover it.
Intake and telehealth
Before services begin, clients must complete the applicable informed consent, financial agreement, and other required intake documents. Counseling is provided only where the provider is legally authorized to practice.
For telehealth, be prepared to confirm your physical location and an emergency contact as requested. Join from a private location with a reliable connection. Do not attend while driving. If a technical problem interrupts your session, contact the provider through the agreed method so the appropriate next step and any billing adjustment can be determined.
Fees and payment
Fees, payment timing, accepted payment methods, and any applicable cancellation charges will be disclosed before you commit to services and documented in your financial agreement. You are responsible only for amounts properly due under that agreement, applicable law, and any relevant insurance contract.
Insurance eligibility does not guarantee payment. When insurance is used, benefits and client responsibility will be determined under the applicable plan and provider contract. Do not assume that coaching or speaking services qualify for health insurance coverage.
If you are uninsured or are not using insurance, you may have a right to a Good Faith Estimate under applicable federal requirements. Contact the practice for information about an estimate before receiving services.
Cancellations and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact the practice prior to 24hrs of your scheduled appointment time.
Late cancellation or missed appointment fee may apply.
Any late cancellation or missed appointment fee must be disclosed in advance and permitted by applicable law and payer rules. It is a scheduling charge, not a charge for treatment delivered, and will not be billed to insurance as a completed counseling session.
Late arrivals
Please arrive or connect on time. A late arrival may shorten the available session so the provider can keep subsequent appointments. Whether a shortened appointment can proceed, and any applicable fee, will be determined under the financial agreement and clinical circumstances. A missed appointment is handled under the disclosed missed appointment policy.
No refunds for completed services
Payments for counseling or life coaching sessions that have been provided are nonrefundable, except where a refund or adjustment is required by law or an applicable payer contract. Fees compensate the provider for professional time and services delivered. They are not contingent on a particular outcome, level of progress, or satisfaction with the session.
Properly disclosed and lawfully charged late cancellation or missed appointment fees are also nonrefundable, subject to any applicable legal or payer requirements.
This policy does not authorize retaining payment for services the practice cancels and does not provide, duplicate payments, overpayments, or other billing errors.
Provider cancellations and advance payments
If the provider cancels an appointment, you will not be charged a client cancellation fee. You may reschedule, and any payment for the canceled service will be applied to the replacement appointment with your agreement or returned if the service will not be provided.
Any advance payment for unused services will be handled under the financial agreement and applicable law. A no-refund policy for completed sessions does not automatically make all unused advance payments nonrefundable.
Billing questions
Contact the practice if you believe a charge is incorrect. We will review the records and correct any confirmed billing error. This policy does not restrict lawful billing disputes, patient complaints, or other rights available to you.
Workshops and speaking engagements
Workshops, organizational bookings, and speaking engagements may have separate contracts addressing deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds. The signed agreement for that engagement governs, subject to applicable law.
