“I believe healing is possible when people feel seen, safe, and supported. That’s why I do this work — to help others rediscover their strength, rewrite their story, and return to themselves.” — Dr. Pamélla E. Terry, LMHC

Meet Dr. Pamèlla Terry, LMHC: Therapist & Founder

Helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward.

I believe healing is possible when people feel seen, safe, and supported.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families during some of the most complicated seasons of their lives.

I have seen what can happen when people are given the space to tell the truth about what they are experiencing without judgment.

I have also seen what happens when people begin to recognize strengths in themselves that difficult
circumstances caused them to forget.

That belief is at the heart of The Point of Light.

My Approach

Therapy with me is collaborative. I bring my clinical experience and training to the process, but you bring something equally important: your lived experience.

You know what it feels like to live your life.

Together, we work to understand the experiences, emotions, relationships, beliefs, and patterns that may be influencing where you are today.

Our work may include helping you:

  • Understand thoughts and patterns that keep you feeling stuck

  • Process grief and difficult experiences

  • Develop healthier ways of coping

  • Build confidence and self-awareness

  • Strengthen boundaries

  • Improve relationships

  • Reconnect with your strengths

  • Clarify what you want for your future

I believe therapy should provide insight, but it should also help you create meaningful change outside the therapy room.

Who I Work With

I primarily support women, caregivers, and professionals navigating:

  • Grief and loss

  • Anxiety

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Trauma

  • Relationship concerns

  • Stress and burnout

  • Major life changes

  • Parenting and caregiving stress

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Identity and personal growth

I understand that culture, family, community, identity, responsibility, and life experience all influence how we understand ourselves.

For that reason, culturally responsive care is an important part of how I approach this work.

My Professional Experience

My professional background spans psychology, counseling, education, leadership, teaching, coaching,
and mental health.

Over more than two decades, I have supported children, adolescents, adults, families, educators, professionals, and communities.

In addition to my clinical work, my experience includes educational leadership and teaching at the college level.

These different parts of my professional life have shaped the way I understand people.

I see emotional wellness not in isolation, but in the context of relationships, family systems, work, education, culture, identity, responsibility, and the environments in which people live.

What You Can Expect From Me

You can expect me to be:

Warm, but honest.

Compassionate, while helping you challenge patterns that may no longer serve you.

Supportive, while encouraging growth.

Professional, while still creating space for genuine human connection.

Therapy does not require you to arrive with the perfect words.

You only need to begin where you are.
